About the Twang Cafe

Trapeze Productions’ current running production is the ever popular and always charming Americana music series, TWANG CAFÉ; a first Sunday of the month showcase of acoustic music, featuring some of the Bay Area’s most talented bands and musicians. The event is held in Berkeley at Epic Arts, an intimate community performance space in the heart of the Ashby Arts District. This series brings together a variety of high caliber, Americana talent not often seen in such a close and welcoming setting.

Trapeze Productions strives to communicate to and engage with the world in new and exciting ways by reaching out and connecting with others using provocative productions; we are here to encourage the power of creativity, risk taking and community. Trapeze Productions is a vehicle to counter the societal lacking of our urban environments and promote creative urges through engagement.

* Production History *

Trapeze Productions started out with a simple project that would seek to ask personal questions of total strangers; both to feed our curiosity and to simply see if they would answer. We found not only will strangers answer questions but, they are glad to be asked.

Since that first “production” simply entitled DEBUT Trapeze Productions has gone on to ask more questions and take more risks.

We have collaborated with MegaMooj Designs on a photography project titled, “Unclothed People With Edible Items (the project not titled nude with food)”.

Our fund raising efforts have benefited both The San Francisco Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival and the Berkeley Old Time Music Convention, by creating the popular “Hootenanny” series of January house concerts held in Berkeley and producing the Donner Mountain Bluegrass Band / Amy & Karen show.

We have also studied a demographic for a horny man in PROJECT BOB, investigated the sense of humor of big businesses with SnailMailMe and created a new, never before seen, form of social interaction entitled DATE RESUME.
